Artist Note
These paintings came from working through my fearful-avoidant attachment style and learning to see my anxiety not as brokenness, but as a normal response to abnormal circumstances.
In therapy, I began to understand what Dr. Peter Levine means when he says, “trauma is not a life sentence.” Painting these experiences helped me further bring them out of the shadows and into awareness, where they could soften, integrate, and lose their charge.
This work is a reminder that what once felt unbearable can transform into understanding and resilience, when we have the courage to face it with compassion.
