I’m Diana Pop, a visual artist based in Los Angeles.
I was born in Romania and grew up in a family with generational trauma, which shaped me long before I had the words for it. Art was where I could make sense of feelings, memories, and sensations that didn’t have another outlet; a way to listen to my body and let things move through instead of staying stuck.
My practice is rooted in the healing process: feeling fully, reconnecting with the body’s wisdom, and giving shape to the undercurrents of my life.
I’m deeply inspired by psychology, spirituality, graffiti, hip hop culture, nature, and the symbolic world of the unconscious.
My work explores the emotional landscapes of trauma: shame, fear, self-doubt, the pressure to fit into a role, the longing to break free; alongside the spiritual realms that open up through meditation, nature, and plant medicine: a sense of awe, beauty, and nurturing. Another big influence is hip hop and graffiti culture. Growing up as an immigrant kid in search of belonging, hip hop became a refuge and a source of power when I felt the most powerless. That pulse still lives in my art.
I work with acrylic, watercolor, markers, and spray paint on mixed media, blending bold color, symbols, and text. Through my art, I hope to spark conversations about generational trauma, healing, and the deep connection between our bodies, minds, and environments.
